Treherne

Make sure you check out the Attractions page as it lists our upcoming events like:  Treherne Marathon.

The Town of Treherne, incorporated on December 31, 1948, is situated on Highway 2 approximately mid-way between the cities of Winnipeg and Brandon.  Named after its first postmaster, Treherne evolved in the 1870's at the junction of the historic Yellow Quill Trail and Boyne River.

The rolling lands of the Tiger Hills to the south provide a pleasant setting for the community.  Pinkerton Lakes, some six miles south, have been designated a wildlife management area.  The Assiniboine River Valley, lying to the north lends itself to irrigation as well as recreation and hunting.

Agriculture is the main economic activity in the area and the community.  Its diversification has allowed for the development of a strong and stable economic base.  A number of agriculture-related businesses make Treherne a major rural service center in south central Manitoba.

RM of South Norfolk

The Rural Municipality of South Norfolk is located in southern Manitoba on PTH #2 and approximately one hour from both the City of Winnipeg and the United States border.

We are an ideal location for the establishment of a value added agricultural business with immediate access to product, rail transportation, major roadway and an abundant water supply.

Our proximity to the City of Winnipeg and the Canada-United States border also makes us an attractive place in relation to North American markets.
