Local Government - Council Agendas & Minutes

June 1, 2020 - Council, Committee and Special Meetings as well as Public Hearings will now be held in the Council Chambers, however, the building is still closed to the public.  

Anyone wishing to appear as a delegation or make a presentation to the Council are required to contact the Chief Administrative Officer to make arrangements (204-723-2044 x 2224 or cao@treherne.ca).

Audio recordings of all meetings are available upon request.  Please contact the Chief Administrative Officer to make arrangements (204-723-2044 x 2224 or cao@treherne.ca). Draft meeting minutes will be posted on the website (www.treherne.ca) as soon as possible.

Regular meetings of council shall be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:00AM in Council Chambers of the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne. The first meeting in January will be held the third Monday of the month. Meeting dates and times may be changed by Council as required. 

Agendas:

All items to be placed on the agenda of the next regular meeting must be provided to the C.A.O. at least 3 business days prior to the scheduled day of the meeting.

A draft agenda will be prepared for the public and may be available prior to the opening of the regular meeting. The Office Staff may continue to add or delete items to update the agenda as needed prior to the start of the meeting. Once the meeting begins items may be added to the agenda at a regular meeting of council by a majority vote of the members present.

Council may vary the order in which business on the agenda shall be dealt with.


Delegations:

To allow members of council to prepare for delegations, all presenters must register with the C.A.O. at least (96) ninety-six business hours before the council meeting and advise the C.A.O. of the topic and scope of the presentation. The C.A.O. may allow for up to (4) four delegations per meeting.

The Chair may limit the time taken by a delegation to (10) ten minutes.The delegation must appoint a spokesperson.
