Our Mission-

- To proclaim Christ to the people of Treherne and District through worship, witness, education and outreach according to the guidelines of the United Church of Canada

Our Building--

Treherne United Church is a designated Heritage site and is in good repair. In the summer of 2002, geo-thermal heat pumps were installed and the congregation enjoys a comfortable temperature year round. All of the windows around the sanctuary are stained glass and dedicated in memory of former members or groups.

Services--

Worship services are held every Sunday morning at 11a.m. with a month long holiday usually in July. Sunday School classes are held in the basement during the worship services from September to May each year. Vacation Bible School is held during the summer. The three choirs Children, Junior and Senior, offer special anthems each week. Over the past year or so, the congregation has been participating in more contemporary worship from time to time. The music is all Christian, but it may be rock, country or chants - a little different from the traditional services. Other parts of the service have also had some adjustments. The children's story has taken different shapes and the service often starts with a choral introit. These changes seem to be welcomed by all age groups.

The church also provides a setting for baptisms, weddings and funerals. Hearing enhancement devices are available for those who request them. These devices are small, unobtrusive ear-pieces with a small receiver that tucks into a pocket. Those who use them regularly are very pleased with the reception. Coffee and cookies are served following worship each week. This is an opportunity for fellowship and welcome for newcomers.
